These hand painted cups and saucers with beautiful pink roses were, apparently, custom-made by a Dresden company to be marketed in the Jaccard's store in Kansas City, Missouri.
Searches found that the store was in place in the 1890's but we were unable to determine if it is still in business and if not, when it closed.
These cups are done in the 'fragonard' shape (handle style) and are in excellent condition. The gold edges and trim are bright and of the type only obtainable in the 19th and very early 20th centuries.
Purchased together out of a house, we would like them to stay together and they are priced for both. If you wish to purchase only one, please email to discuss. Of course, one will cost more than they do together, but if your collection is for only one of each type of cup, then you will probably find the premium very acceptable.
The saucer measures just a hair under 4 1/2" in diameter. The cup is 2 3/4" at the rim, 2 3/16" at the base and 3 7/8" tall to the top of the handle - 3" from base to rim.
