This older, early 20th century, googly-eyed fish features the most amazing array of colors we've ever seen on these type of pieces.
The colors range from a very pale yellow to a deep red (only on top of the head).
The hanging ring is marked 'silver', and it tests positive for sterling grade silver (at least 925 out of 1000 parts silver). The fish measures 3".
By the way...those googly eyes are sometimes called 'telescope' eyes - another very appropriate word to describe their appearance!
Because the fish retains its chain and bail there are many ways to either display or wear this piece. It can be worn as a pendant, displayed on a hanger, or stood up on its fins.
This one actually has 6 fins - 5 little ones on the underbelly. The articulation is particularly good - perhaps a testimony to its early fabrication.
It is in excellent condition.
We have several other various articulated Chinese fish for sale on our site and we hope you look at all of them. We even have a very, very large-sized one which is very rare and very special.
