This plaque's central feature is of a diaphonously clad woman arising from a lotus flower. Nearby on the shore is her suitor, kneeling in the rushes!
The ornate border features a flowering vine. Lots of nice details.
On first appearance the style seems to be Art Nouveau, however, upon closer inspection it seems to harken to an earlier period of design. The woman could be Art Nouveau, while the man appears to be dressed in Renaissance period clothing. A bit confusing!
On the reverse there is a stamped mark in red saying 'Dresden'.
The plaque is in excellent condition. It measures 7 3/4" tall x 5 1/4" wide.
