Similar to the small boxes we often identify as Limoges, since this one is not marked as coming from the area of Limoges, we must assume that it is not from that area. It is, however, clearly marked as having been manufactured in France. Ca. 1900.
The box is hinged and features a slightly domed lid with angled sides. It is adorned with handpainted floral features and gold leafing. Aqua and white are the predominant solid areas. Both the inside top and bottom have a gilded flourish of decoration.
The box is in excellent condition and measures 3" x 2 1/4" x 2" high. It has a good 'snappy' sound when you close the lid.
