Beautiful! This was a club-members-only limited edition issued jug from 1996/97 timeframe and only 250 were made.
It is 9 1/2" tall. It has a great form and gorgeous iris decoration.
The flowers range from deep purple, light blue, to a deep maroon color. The handle and upper portion has an ivory color ground. The ground color deepens towards the base going from a deep smoky blue to a blue/black shade closest to the base.
I remember when we purchased this ewer directly from the club. Amazingly, 15 years have gone by since. We have had enormous pleasure looking at this piece in our cabinet and it is time someone else can enjoy it!
We just took new photos and to our amazement the camera captured a few craze lines. There are not cracks or damages. They are naturally occurring lines that occur in the top clear glaze over time in most pottery items - especially Moorcroft. Apparently, 15 years is enough time for these to occur. This piece has been on display in our breakfront all this time and only handled by me personally. The next to last photo shows the craze lines in a close up. They are not all over the piece - just in that area. Again...they are not cracks or hairlines. Because of it though, we have lowered our asking price. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. And remember...if you are not happy with it, you may return it.
