One of only a few jasperware plaques we've had in this deep blue color (we have one other right now that comes close). It is in fabulous condition with no damages.
This plaque has two figures, both playing a musical instrument. The beautiful long-haired woman is playing a lyre while the cherubic little boy at her feet plays a violin.
The background features vines, reeds, and water lilies - elements often seen in these 100 year old pieces.
The last photo is an array of varied plaques to show how well different colors, shapes, and subjects can co-mingle beautifully! In that display you will see that the bottommost blue plaque is the one closest in color to the one in this listing.
Also, our listing twt2230 has the same basic subject on green in a rectangular shape and framed. The setting in the background is very different from this one.
This plaque measures 13" x 6 1/2". It has the typical hanging ring found on Volkstedt plaques but it does not bear the Volkstedt starburst mark. No mark in fact. Absolutely of Volkstedt quality in every way.
