One thing you might already know about the color turquoise is that it is a perfect compliment to all skin tones. This satiny robe is no exception!
When I had my brick & mortar shop I sold several of these longer robes as outer wear because the style is timeless and the fabric is so luxurious and it happens to look spectacular over tight slacks with high heels and a plain top. The high stand-up, mandarin style collar frames brings focus to the face and the jewel tone of the fabric negates any need for jewelry except perhaps an accessory worn in the hair or a pair of earrings.
As you can see in the photos, the entire neck area, cuffs, and pocket trim has an elaborate scrolled design done in embroidery. Marvelous!
The lining is the same color turquoise in a solid shade. When worn open, as you walk, the splash of solid, silky smooth satin shows and makes a wonderful statement. There are side vents.
By the way, this style and length not only compliments all skin tones but also many body types. Sleek but not in any way clingy, it slithers with you as you walk. And, let me tell you ladies, if you wear it with bare arms underneath so you can feel the fabric, you will feel like a million bucks!
The fabric has a woven print of spider chrysanthemums in white, pale pink, and black with some occasional sprigs of bamboo leaves in pale gold. Note that the photos look decidedly more green than turquoise but it is definitely the latter.
Now, if you are the kind of woman who likes elegant 'lounge wear', you might consider this a special occasion house coat worn closed and with only a little something on under it or nothing at all! Your partner will appreciate it!
Please note that this garment has been professionally dry cleaned and has no odors, stains, or other defects. For all we know it was never worn and consider it as good as new although it is approximately 30 years old.
Also please note that it was kept in a closet recently and got a little wrinkled on the bottom, and we don't own an iron!! It should hang out or need a touch up pressing.
There is a label in the neck that indicates a size 42 but only pay attention to the measurements listed for sizing information. This robe is for a medium to large woman depending on whether it is worn closed or open.
It has frog closures that work well and are very securely sewn.
The length is 44". Across the back it is 18" across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 22" across the back from armpit seam to armpit seam. The side slits are 11 1/2" deep.
The cuffs are 4" allowing lots of adjustability for your arm length/comfort. The sleeves are about 7/8 length, but as just said, can be easily adjusted. They are 17" long and about 8" wide.
