This is a large size (1 7/8" diameter) hunter's cased watch with beautiful brite cut work on both the 14k gold front and back covers.
The inside dust cover (not gold) indicates that this watch has a Breguet Spiral mechanism. It runs well.
It weighs 76.9 grams.
On the inside of both the front and back covers is an impressed 14K mark along with the maker's mark which we have not been able to track down. We had initially identified as the goldsmithy, Pavel Buhre but are not sure. The impressed hallmark is that of a squirrel (Swiss).
It is in excellent overall condition with some some dents to the sides of the case but not on front or back.
One cover has, in a cartouche, the fancy letters "T" and "G".
Very clean face with pretty hands and sweeping second hand.
We are not watch experts and were told by a local watch "guy" that the watch mechanism is a "generic" replacement. We purchased it this way so have no idea if that is true and if so, when that was done.
We have priced it reasonably based on the size, condition, and gold content. If we thought the mechanism was original 19th century, this watch would be priced at 4x the price being asked. The case is definitely 19th century. This is a showy, wearable, and still a valuable gold watch.
