This exquisite large tray displays beautifully.
It features a central multi-person, semi-nude scene with warriors and maidens and children. Vivid burgundy, dark green, and bright gold borders surround the central ovoid scene done in vivid yet subdued colors.
It measures 18 1/4" across x 14" high. It is about 1" deep and about 1 1/2" deep at the handles (a standard plate holder can be obtained to accommodate the 14" height to easily allow you to hang this on a wall).
It is in very, very good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a small area of gold wear that is visible on the first two photos but does not in anyway affect the overall appearance of this magnificent piece. It would be considerably higher in price without that minor gold wear but it is mentioned here for total disclosure purposes only.
Ca. 1940s. Considered antique by many authorities, however, this site does not permit listing porcelains under 100 years old as antique. At about 70 years it has considerable age to it!
