Along with an elaborate gold border, there is accent decoration all around with raised enamel jewelling in turquoise. This plate was made ca. 1890-95, and according the the artist's signature on the reverse, was decorated in 1895. The plate is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The artist's initials are W.M. Mc. The Limoges hallmark is from the company of Gerard, Duffraisseix & Morel. The plate measures approx. 8 3/8" in diameter. If this was slightly larger at 9-10" the value would be approximately 8x the value. Because of the handpainted seen and the "jewels" this plate will make a first-class display in your home and a very desireable addition to your collection.
