Details- This early 20th century Mashad is in excellent condition. Mashad is one of the holiest cities in Persia located in the Northeast. There is a long standing tradition of making typical Persian style rugs here that have a particularly sturdy and heavy weave. Curvilinear designs and Persian motifs are common like that of Esfahan and Kashan, and a use of a more purple or maroon red can often distinguish a Mashad rug from other Persian city rugs.
