Details- This early 20th Century Agra is in mint condition. The city of Agra in India has been a weaving center within india dating to the time of the moghuls. During the British occupation weavers and rug makers where brought in from Persia to make rugs for export as westerners wanted them. The designs have a distinct Persian feel but are set apart by the western influences in design, color, and construction. This is a great example of one of these rugs. The Green field and Red border typifies a color palette being made in Agra at this time.
