Emile Galle' was from Nancy France and began making glass in his glass studio there in 1873. In 1889 he introduced his cameo glass at The Paris International Exhibition. After his death in 1904 his wife carried on his work and some pieces, not all were signed with a star between 1904 and 1914. .This unusual bowl is a tri-color piece that matches a HUGE vase with the same design and coloration that was obtained from the same great Texas estate and is separately listed. The acid etched cameo glass has detailed leaves and bunches of fruit. Appropriately signed in cameo with a star this piece is guaranteed to be authentic and not a reproduction. The bowl measures about 6 3/4" across, is over 2" high, and is 5" across the top rim. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines and has a large polished pontil. Texas residents to pay 8 1/4% sales tax or provide exemption information.
