Fantastic detail in the flowers and faces on this great set. Appropriately marked as shown and in excellent condition. The makers mark was used circa 1901 by Carl Thieme, Saxony Porcelain Factory, Potschappel, Saxony, Germany. It is an intertwined S & P. Carl Thieme Porcelain Factory was an outstanding manufacturer of fine porcelain. Quality is similar to Meissen. Carl Thieme was originally a famous artist at Meissen who later started his own factory. The marks are the same on all three pieces, the bowl also has a number that looks like 26243 below the mark. I find no broken petals, chips, cracks hairlines or other damage, except for about 1/16" off of the tip of one blue petal and a tiny nick off the side of another blue petal. Even the gold is in excellent condition. The bowl measures an impressive 12 3/8" long, about 8" from front to back and about 5" high. Each candle holder is about 7" long, 4 1/2" deep and 6 1/2" high. Actual shipping and insurance with no handling or packing fee will be charged after a sale because I do not want to risk damaging the set by packing it and taking it to the post office unless it sells. Because Ruby Lane requires shipping fee information I have put in $40 but the preceding information about shipping and insurance will apply. Texas residents to pay 8 1/4% sales tax or provide exemption information.
