Claude Carbonel Santon de Provence France Clay Doll - Man - Hand made out of the finest clay from Santon de Provence France. The creation of these dolls is a long time tradition begun by Claude Carbonel himself. This spectacular Carbonel doll was made to represent life in France in the 18th & 19th century. Every detail of clothing is hand stitched and all dolls are one of a kind. This doll represents the average French farmer of the early days. He holds a basket (which looks like it used to have something else in it) and a sickle and has flowers in his apron. The sickle is now lose but appears that it was once glued to something, maybe his hand. The doll is stamped "Claude Carbonel Provence, Made in France" on the bottom and he still the original sticker on his back with the same information. The doll stands 10 3/4" tall. He is in great condition and is very collectible.
