This sterling silver and turquoise Native American squash blossom necklace is truly special. There are five turquoise stones set near the squash blossom shapes on each side of the necklace. The stones are immediately surrounded by a twisted wire within a pattern of arches, curves and flowing designs. In the center of the necklace is the traditional naja, the inverted crescent. The naja holds six turquoise stones surrounded by twisted wire. The top center of the naja boosts another pendant coming down vertically. At the top of this pendant there is a large turquoise stone with a smaller one beneath it. The stones are set within the same twisted wire, arches, curves and flowing designs as the stones on the sides of the necklace. These flowing designs are very naturalistic and add a beautiful element to the necklace. All of these pieces are strung on two rows of silver beads on each side. The two rows flow into one on each side as it nears the clasp of the necklace. Having the stunning second pendant atop the naja makes this necklace very special. We strongly believe the necklace is of Navajo origin based on the design and believe it is an old piece although we cannot ascertain an exact date. Inline with older pieces there are no markings or signatures. This is a large heavy necklace. The necklace is 26" long with the naja measuring 2.5" wide and 3.5" long. It weighs an astounding 180 grams. The piece tested as sterling using an acid test. The turquoise stones are a beautiful color with a bit more of a green tint. The condition of the necklace is very good. There is one stone directly above the naja on the right hand side that has a deep looking vein through the matrix of the stone (as seen in the pictures). We are not certain if the stones have been stabilized or not. We did not polish it as we leave this decision up to the buyer. This necklace came from the collection of a Native American enthusiast and avid collector. Many pieces such as this remained in the collector's hands for decades and now this particular item is available to you. CHRISTMAS SALE!!
