This is a beautiful example of an antique American Brilliant Period cut glass flint vase. The decorations are divided into four quadrants with each opposite quadrant matching each other. One set of quadrants is a flower with a long stem and leaves and on the top is a larger depiction of the bud of the same flower. This second set of quadrants displays a different flower that also has a long stem and leaves but reaches all the way to the top of the vase. In between each quadrant are rows of a cut glass pattern that also show up on the bottom and top of the vase in certain sections. The rim is flat however it boosts a scalloped pattern cut into the flat rim. There is also a large flower bud cut on the bottom of the vase. This is a piece that sparkles and exudes beauty and class. The vase is heavy and the edges of the cuts are prominent. The vase is from the American Brilliant Period; between 1876 – 1917. There is wear on the bottom that is to be expected with a vase from this period. There are no visible cracks or chips. The vase is in great condition. It measures 12” high and 5” wide (at the widest point). It weighs 4lbs 15.6 oz.
