A superb dresser base, English, c. 1780. Oak cross-banded and inlaid with mahogany. Break-fronted form. Shaped aprons ending in bracket feet. Central molded cabinet door, surmounted by a faux drawer and flanked on both sides by triple drawer sections. Each section flanked by inset reeded pilasters with mahogany inlaid capitals and bases. Diamond bone escutcheons. Each cross-banded section with double boxwood stringing. Floating panel sides. Well molded top. 77 3/4" w., 20 1/2" d., 34 1/8"h.
