THE ART OF LLADRO: It is like looking at dimensional photographs of moments caught and frozen in time, yet so life-like and bursting with vitality.. .

From my personal collection - This beautiful figurine, now retired, was a first one in my LLadro porcelain figurines collection. It was gifted to me in and, I remember, I was not too pleased with it since till that time I have not developed a taste for porcelain figurines. I placed it in a curio cabinet and it was not until I received another one, followed by a number of more, that I began to look more closely at them and... have become addicted to their exquisite art, pastel colors and expressiveness of their subjects. It was like looking at dimensional photographs of moments caught and frozen in time, yet so life-like and bursting with vitality. And,as the time went by, I added additional figurines to my collection. I particularly like Lladro children's playfulness, the animals and young couples like the one on the Seesaw offered here.

Long retired, this exquisite 1974 piece of art is very desirable. It is so expressive! Please note the artist's attention to every minute detail – The beautiful dress of the young girl, the movement of her hand, the attentiveness of the young man, the flirtatious but reserved expression of the young girl's face, the flowers at the base of the seesaw, the shoes, the folds on the stockings of the young girl, and -- the harmonious pastel colors of the entire composition, so typical of this Lladro artist. Named in Spanish “Columpio Feliz”, the glazed*** figurine was issued in 1974 and had been retired in 1991. The base is imprinted with the Lladro emblem and Vincente Martinez initials-MV.
