A raised elephant’s trunk is believed to be a symbol of good luck….
From my personal collection- I love elephants in almost all of their artistic interpretations. Over the years, I had acquired quite a number of them, primarily in the form of jewelry but also some of the art designer pieces in home décor have found way into my collection of these noble and splendid animals.
The 925 Sterling Silver offered here is designed and hand sculptured by one of the silversmith artists of the renown Hazorfim company in Israel. It is quite large and heavy (because of the filling on its interior which assures its stability).
The animal is sculptured in a running motion, with its trunk raised high and its huge ears flapping. With a little imagination one can almost imagine hearing the sound of its trumpet… Each huge muscle on its body is perfectly sculptured and underscores the movement motion. The elephant’s face is quite expressive , sculptured with the hide wrinkles and its eyes opened wide. The two ivory-color tusks are sculptured from a bovine bone. It is a beautiful home art piece. The sculpture bears the 925 Sterling Silver hallmark and the signature of the artist as well as the Hazorfim logo. Its four legs are line with a protective felt lining, to prevent furniture scratches.

DIMENSIONS: Height : 7.75” . Width: 6.5” . Weight: 550 grams (1.6 lbs.)
MATERIALS: 925 Sterling Silver. Bovine Bone.
VINTAGE AND CONDITION: THERE IS ONLY ONE PROBLEM.. Even though the piece is in an almost pristine condition, having been displayed behind glass, its right ear had broken off during my return trip from Israel. Apparently, the store had not taken a proper care in packaging it. I had it repaired by a master silversmith here, and even though the repair is not visible at a first glance, you can see it upon a careful examination of the piece. In the first photo , the damage is indicated by the light blue tint (placed there by me) along the animal’s face. The rest of the blue tint is only a shadow.. All of the photos taken from the right hand side as well as from the back show a small seem along that ear as well. The original price had been reduced not only because of the special event we are running but also because of the almost invisible damage. It will be shipped very carefully packaged to protect all of its parts.
