CINER JEWELRY IS CONSIDERED AN ART AND THEIR VINTAGE FASHION JEWELRY IS A PART OF THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART’S PERMANENT FASHION DEPARTMENT COLLECTION.
The splendor of the earrings offered here represents one of the best versions of the Mogul style jewelry. Following the earlier adaptations of the ancient MOGUL or MUGHAL jewelry by Coco Chanel, the genre was interpreted and introduced, in the 1950’s, into modern costume jewelry designs by Christian Dior and followed by other renowned designers of the era. The “Mogul Jewelry” genre and design became known as “The Jewels of India” or “L’Orient”.
Three lustrous, emerald, ruby and sapphire oval shaped, Gripoix art glass cabochons are bezel- set in a triangular cluster on a domed open work premium gold plated base. They are surrounded by three, same colors, round Gripoix cabochons. Clear and brilliant round Swarovski, prong-set, crystals surround the jewels color cabochons while the smaller, round jewel cabochons are prong-set and complete the domed shape of the earrings. The signature Ciner clips are imprinted with the CINER markings.

About CINER: It was not until 1932 that CINER, a renowned designer of fine jewelry since 1892, had switched their production to a high end fashion jewelry. However, ever since, they have maintained the high standards not only of their spectacular designs, but have used only rich enameling, heavy metals and premium gold and silver- tone plating, assuring substantial feel and the longevity of their jewelry. Their jewelry, many of which successfully imitate fine jewelry, is known for being incrusted with the finest quality of glass beads, crystals and stones by Swarovski and their imitation pearls are produced in Japan. In the past several years, CINER began using semi-precious stones in the fashion jewelry and it remains in high demand among the collectors. Ciner jewelry is considered an art and their vintage fashion jewelry is a part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent Fashion Department collection. They have also been commissioned to create costume jewelry for the Museum’s Gift Shop. Today, Ciner is the only surviving company from those wonderful postwar years that saw the emergence of very fine costume jewelry. It is family owned and operated company designing and producing their look of real and quality jewelry in the heart of New York City!
