Here is to your attention a very special bone composite statue of Geisha.
Tall lean Geisha graciously standing with birds around her and an ewer.
It happens to be a world traveler.
I’ve found it in Tunisia Antiques’ market at the end of 1970s.
From Tunisia it travelled to Europe.
From Europe it came to U.S.
The antiques dealer in Tunisia stated, that it had been brought from Japan.
It is molded and hand painted.
When I found this statue it was close to black color.
I had it cleaned.
On the upper part of back there is seen a delicate line.
It is not a crack.
Please, look carefully the photos.
The last photo shows a tiny chip at the bottom of the pedestal-
it is hardly visible, and invisible when the statue is upright.
The statue is tall and very gracious.
Though molded, it looks a real piece of art.
It is very detailed.
Her hair, drapes of clothes, birds and ewer are
Its height- 19 ¼” (48cm)
Width- 5 ½” (14 cm)
Depth- 4 ½” (11 cm).
The statue’s weight is 5 lb.
