Here is a beautiful old paper fan produced to advertise Putnam Fadeless Dyes and Tints, a division of Monroe Chemical Co. of Monroe, ILL. It was given away for free by George Beal of Kiowa, Kansas. A peacock adorns the front of the fan, and the back is covered with advertising pitches for Putnam Dyes, No Kolor Bleach, and Putnam's Dry Cleaner that "works in gasoline and naphtha the same as soap in water". The Monroe Chemical company has moved to Mexico, where it still produces dyes. The fan is yellowed and stained, but the colors are still vibrant and the fan is quite sturdy and straight. Shipping will be discounted on multiple orders.
