Gene Florence says in his Encyclopedia of Depression Glass that "the jeweled arches of the Romanesque pattern is drawing in more and more collectors with its magnetic charm" and I am one of them! The color and cut of the pattern is so beautiful the way it shimmers in the light. Romanesque was produced by the L. E. Smith Glass Company in the early 1930's. Both plates are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or flea bites, and showing only light stacking and utensil marks. They measure 8". These beautiful plates will make a wonderful addition to your Romanesque collection!
