In 1859, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., started selling its signature whole bean coffee. A survey in 1919 showed that the most popular times for drinking coffee were at 8am and 8pm, so the company began selling coffee under the Eight O’Clock trademark. The Eight O’Clock Coffee Company is still in business today, but the coffee tins are a thing of the past. This large tin measures 7 5/8” tall and 6” square. The tin is in very good condition. There are minor scratches on two sides (see pictures).
