This adorable set of red and white plastic Chefs salt and pepper shakers were produced by New Line Industries, Inc., in the late 1950's. They were manufactured using "Flexcel" which is a softer and more flexible plastic than previously used in kitchenware. The chubby little chefs with their hands folded across their tummies have white chefs hats and black bow ties. The set is in excellent condition with little or no indications of use. The shakers measure 3 1/4" tall. They are marked "New Line Industries, Inc. New York, NY Made in USA". The shakers are pictured in white in "Kitchen Treasures" by Barbara E. Mauzy.
