Although Reinad's beginnings date back to the 1930s with various addresses throughout New York City, they were always known as Reinad Novelty. The only exception was a short period in time during 1941 when jewelry was signed Chanel in script (for Chanel Novelty Co.) and produced only in the spring of 1941. Coco Chanel sued over the use of her name and won. So in late 1941, the signature changed to REINAD.
This interesting dress clip/brooch consists of pink and purple square faceted rhinestones set in a silver plated setting. It is very 3 dimensional and it's shape reminds me of a necklace collar. There are actually rhinestones underneath the brooch. A very substantial and rare piece.
