Everyone needs to have a set of vintage pearls and this 24-inch necklace with diamond set white gold clasp by La Tausca is the perfect set and here, in its' original presentation box. These faux pearls are graduated in size from 9mm in the front to 4mm near the marked 14kt gold filigree clasp with a little genuine diamond chip in the middle. The original vintage presentation box is velvet over a hard case. Lined with a similar colored satin lining marked La Tausca Pearls. The box in in good condition with a solid hinge and clasp. It does have wear as expected for it's age. The inside is molded to perfectly fit the pearls. It measures approx. 12.5" long x 2.5" x .75". The pearls are in excellent condition and Circa: 1940s. The pearl is the birthstone for June and the traditional gift for the 30th wedding anniversary.
La Tausca Pearls was a trade name for high quality faux pearls used by three different companies: Maurice J. Karpeles, L. Heller & Son Inc and Martin Low & Taussig, Providence RI. This trade name was in use from around 1915 as it was first seen in a Albert Walker jewelry catalog. The main La Tausca store dealt in fine jewelry and was located on Fifth Avenue, New York City.
