Rare Vintage Elsa Schiaparelli Gold Plated Lariat Necklace and Matching Earring Set

A rare example of the 1950s U.S.-made Schiaparelli jewelry, this fantastic set of a 58-inch lariat necklace and matching 2.5-inch long clip earrings is a classic. A heavy twisted chain with textured gold balls ending in large dangle box chain links, this necklace can be worn double or even as a belt. The matching clip earrings use the same textured balls as the necklace. It's a fantastic couture jewelry set. Excellent vintage condition. All pieces are signed, the necklace with the original tag and the earrings on the original card display. Never worn.

Elsa Schiaparelli is a giant in the world of couture. Italian by birth and one-time New York City resident, Schiaparelli launched her house of couture in Paris and employed amazingly gifted designers to create her early jewelry accessories, which can be seen today in museums worldwide. Beginning in the late 1930s, some of her jewelry designs were imported by D. Lisner & co. Later, she licensed her name; sometimes, they had a tag that read "Designed in Paris and Made in America." The American Made Schiaparelli is varied and wonderful; I am an avid collector, author, and lecturer on the U.S. Made jewelry. Elsa Schiaparelli passed away at the age of 83 in Paris in 1973. Collectors covet everything Schiaparelli.
