A wonderful example of Vendome beads from the late 1950s - early 1960s, this set consists of a triple strand bracelet and matching clip earrings. The beads are glass aurora borealis and faux pearls in various shapes, with silver plated metals. The set is in excellent condition with no visible wear. A neutral, sparkling great set.
Vendome jewelry was one of the many lines created by costume jewelry manufacturers Coro. Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger established Coro in New York in 1901. The founders hired jewelry designers to create their costume pieces. Coro marketed jewelry using different brand names. Vendome was a more expensive, higher end line. Their tag line for Vendome was "Couturier Jewelry". In the 1950s, fine specialty stores stocked Vendome jewelry, and stars, including actor Natalie Wood, appeared in the brand advertising.
