Many traditional costume jewelry companies started making holiday jewelry from the 1940s through the 1970s, Christmas tree pins being the big seller. From Christmas tree pins to Santa Claus brooches, holiday-themed costume jewelry is a favorite of collectors, including myself. I have a large collection of Santas and Christmas trees. This is a sweet example of a signed Hollycraft Christmas tree brooch. A cast piece with brushed goldtone branches and bezel set red and green rhinestones with a scalloped design. It is signed Hollycraft on the back with a copyright symbol, indicating its age in the late 1950s - 1960s. Very good vintage condition and so much fun. A great reference for all types of Christmas pins is Mary Morrison's book "Christmas Jewelry".

Measures: 2.5 x 1.5 inches

Hollycraft (1938-1971) Originally called the Hollywood Jewelry Manufacturing Co, Hollycraft was founded in New York in 1938 by Armenian Joseph Chorbajian. In 1948 the Hollycraft name was introduced. Hollycraft pieces are signed, and pieces from the late 1940s and 1950s are often marked with their exact production date. In 1970 Chorbajian sold the company, and production ceased shortly afterward. Their most popular designs are the pieces in the pastel color combination from the 1950s.
