A wonderful and substantial example of Zoe Coste couture jewelry, this necklace consists of a linked chain in an antiqued gold plated finish and a large pendant with two stylized horse heads, having the symbolic meaning "wild and free". I purchased this piece from an antique market in Brussels and what a find!
Zoe Coste was a French costume jewelry designer who began her career in Europe in the 70’s and later moved to New York. Her older pieces are signed “Zoe Coste Made in France”, as is this piece. Her jewelry was sold exclusively in very high end boutiques. Ms. Coste passed away in 2007 in Cannes. Her pieces continue to be very current in design, scarce in the market place and highly sought after by collectors.
