A beautiful example of Art Deco dress clips with a pinkish-red pressed glass center and angular lines covered in diamante crystals. The center is unusual and adorned with two floral designs pressed in the glass. The stones are set in silver-plated pot metal. The condition of both clips is very good for their age, the stones are bright and the metal and clip are in working order. Circa: 1930s. Dress clips are versatile and so unique. I like to clip them on a lapel of a blazer, on the neckline of a dress, or any way your creativity takes you.
SIZE: 2.25 x 1.75 inches
Dress clips were especially popular during the Depression, the domain of supper clubs and glamour, popularized in escapist 1930s films featuring Talullah Bankhead or Canadian-born stars like Norma Shearer and Fay Wray. The clear rhinestone styles peaked in popularity in the 1930s, and modern day celebrity Charlize Theron memorably channeled that old Hollywood glamour when she clipped a vintage pair of diamond Fred Leighton dress clips onto the straps of her Vera Wang halter dress at the 2000 Oscars.
