Wonderful checkerboard faceted bi-color rectangle glass stones accented with a sapphire blue inverted rhinestone. This pair of Schreiner are very dimensional and can also be worn as a scarf clip. The metal is gold toned. The brooch measures 2 inches across and 1.3 inches tall. They are both signed Schreiner New York on the back. Excellent condition. Evolving from a blacksmith to buckle fabricator and then finally to costume jeweler, Henry Schreiner is responsible for designing some of the most intricate and uniquely colorful costume pieces. His work appeared on the cover of Vogue in the 1950s. The Schreiner of New York brand continued after Henry's death in 1954 with his daughter and son-in-law until the late 1970s. Schreiner pieces are highly coveted by collectors.
