Smokey and mysterious this Hobe three-piece set; necklace, expandable bracelet, and clip earrings are unusual and wonderful. The necklace is a double strand of square red faceted glass beads, gray floral shaped beads, and crystal-studded rhondelles. The clasp is a hook and the extender takes the necklace from 14 to 17 inches. It is marked Hobe. The bracelet is the same construction on an expandable wire so it will fit any wrist comfortably. The dangle earrings are clip and measure 2 inches long. Condition is very good with a little wear to the earring metal, most likely from perfume but does not show. The pieces will show when worn alone but what an impact when worn together!
Originating in Paris in 1887 by Jacques Hobe, the Hobe jewelry company has an outstanding reputation for fine costume pieces. Jacques' son, William, is credited with bringing the brand to the United States and being a master craftsman himself. A serious student of period design, William was able to translate historical designs to modern settings and also created many set designs for the motion pictures. The company closed in 1995.
