Elsa Schiaparelli is a giant in the world of couture. Italian by birth and one-time New York City resident, Schiaparelli launched her house of couture in Paris and employed amazingly gifted designers to create her early jewelry accessories which can be seen today in museums around the world. Beginning in the late 1930s some of her jewelry designs were imported by D. Lisner & co. Later she licensed her name and they often had tags that read "Designed in Paris and Made in America". Elsa Schiaparelli passed away at the age of 83 in Paris in 1973. Everything Schiaparelli is highly collected.
