An avid collector, researcher and lecturer on Schiaparelli American made jewelry, the pieces that you will find in my shop are all from my collection which has grown over the years, as collections do! I bring you this beautiful example of 1950s Schiaparelli, each piece signed with all the characteristics of design that include beautiful rhinestones and elegant construction. Light blue teardrop shaped faceted rhinestones, open backed with highly faceted round and aurora borealis blue stones, all pronged set in a gold plated setting. The necklace measures 17 inches long and approximately one inch wide, with a hook closure and signature drop. The matching clip earrings are signed, include the patent number and measure just over 1.25 inch long. The bracelet is 7 inches long, with a fold over signed clasp and a safety chain. An exquisite example.
Elsa Schiaparelli is a giant in the world of couture. Italian by birth and one-time New York City resident, Schiaparelli launched her house of couture in Paris and employed amazingly gifted designers to create her early jewelry accessories which can be seen today in museums around the world. Beginning in the late 1930s some of her jewelry designs were imported by D. Lisner & co. Later she licensed her name and they often carried a tag that said "Designed in Paris and Made in America". Elsa Schiaparelli passed away at the age of 83 in Paris in 1973. Everything Schiaparelli is highly collected.
