This is a very special set from Coro with gorgeous rhinestones that show great depth of color, all set in a brushed silver tone setting. The intricate design has patterned leaves that drape over the top of the necklace and earrings. This set is signed and shows a signature that tells us it is 1940s.

The name Coro is actually a combination of the last names of the two founders, Cohn and Rosenberger. Founded in the 1900s, the Coro jewelry company became a powerhouse in reasonably priced costume jewelry and brought colored stones and glitter to middle-class women all over America. Produced in their factory in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1946 Coro employed 2100 people with gross sales of $16M! Even though the Coro brand changed hands in the 1970s and stopped in the 1990s, it's impact changed the landscape of American costume jewelry. Coro had several lines including Coro, CoroCraft and Vendome.
