Starting out as E.A. Bliss, the Napier company was created in 1922 by James Napier. The company has a legacy of producing striking pieces including an elephant bracelet that was worn almost every day by former First Lady, Mamie Eisenhower. In fact, Napier is known for making sophisticated charm bracelets popular in the 1950s, highly collectible today. Still in business today, beware of some sterling silver bracelets being sold as Napier, and make sure to look for the correct Napier mark. "The Napier Co." book by Melinda Lewis is an excellent reference on all Napier jewelry.
