Wonderful set of Butler & Wilson that I discovered in an antique store in England. Tiny faux pearl clusters, big blue oval cabochons and orchid color rhinestones are just stunning on this faux pearl wired chain necklace. The hang tag with B&W is on the necklace for Butler and Wilson. The earrings are clip and have the same stones although a little less bright than the necklace. The style is Victorian and it is just stunning.
Size: Necklace: 17.5 inches plus 3.5 inch pendant drop; Clip Earrings: 1 inch
In the early 1970’s, two British Antique jewelers and designers, Nicky Butler and Simon Wilson started their own company, Butler & Wilson. Their jewelry was well made and utilized Austrian rhinestones and crystals all prong set and set into base gun metal, rhodium, polished gold plated or silver plated metals. The jewelry was very popular and was sought after because of its global flair. Princess Diana wore brooches by Butler & Wilson. The jewelry is marked “B & W” or Butler & Wilson. The partnership broke up in the 1990’s with Simon Wilson retaining the Butler and Wilson name. Since that time, Nicky Butler, under his own name, has designed and manufactured costume jewelry.
