Wonderful antiqued gold tone medallion necklace with a very large oval glass cabochon in the center by Hollycraft c.1950′s. The center circular shaped pendant is an ornate design set with a beautiful faux amethyst glass cabochon. The necklace measures 22 inches long, on a very unique and interesting style chain, and the centerpiece of the necklace measures 4 inches. It is in excellent vintage condition.
Hollycraft (1938-1971) Originally called the Hollywood Jewelry Manufacturing Co, Hollycraft was founded in New York in 1938 by Armenian Joseph Chorbajian. In 1948 the Hollycraft name was introduced. Hollycraft pieces are signed, pieces from the late 1940s and 1950’s are often marked with their exact date of production. In 1970 Chorbajian sold the company and production ceased shortly afterwards. Their most popular designs are the pieces in the pastel color combination from the 1950’s.
