This wonderful mid 19th century stable, is a very early construction toy, possibly the earliest construction toy of this type. It comes in it's original box with sliding lid and paper label which shows the stable and states Horse Stable to Build - 4 Horses.
The pieces, which many are numbered in pencil, are made of pine and is complete and all original. At some stage someone has added extra pieces of wood to the base of the box, so it braces the stable and you can assemble using the base of the box.
Height of man --4.3/8in. (11cm.) high
Height of stable without box base --9.1/4in. (23.5cm.) high
width of box --11.3/4in. (30cm.)
(generally very good, two horses legs have been neatly re-glued, there is a few very minor repairs to the pieces and a small hole to the lid label)
