A beautiful and Victorian Valentine music box,

the blue silk covered wooden box applied with embossed paper and scrap flowers, when opened it starts playing a tune, there are two airs and the tune can be changed by pulling a lever at the front of the box.
When opened that is when the magic is revealed, a beautiful interior of artificial cloth flowers, scraps and shells. The central box conceals the cylinder and comb music box.
I believe this dates from the last half of the 19th century.
It measures 6 in. x 6 in. (15.5cm. x 15.5cm.) and 2in. (5cm.) high.
It comes with what I believe to be the original key and is in excellent condition, someone has obviously treasured this.
