This is a very interesting bear, although I do not know his maker! I do love an unknown bear.
He is obviously early, perhaps 1910s, with a pronounced muzzle, long arms, big feet and hump.
He has lovely long shaggy golden mohair, black glass eyes, an interesting shield shaped black stitched nose, with brown stitched mouth and claws.
The ears are slotted into the head, which is unusual on a nicer quality bear.
His pads are felts, he is stuffed with wood wool and has an inoperative tilt growler --19 1/2in. (49.5cm) high
(very good condition, minimal wear to mohair and hole to left foot pad)
