A very good 18th century English lignum vitae pestle and mortar with ring turning. Both the mortar and pestle are in good condition and are a good colour.
Lignum vitae was often used for pestles and mortars because of its hardness and dense grain.
There are pole lathe marks evident on the base of the mortar.
The moratr measures 19cm h x 13cm w.
