This cup was part of history through its connection to the Anderson/Longworth families of Cincinnati. These prominent, wealthy families held high positions from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War to ambassadorships into the early-20th century.
We have never seen a christening mug that also happens to be a memorial to the recipient's grandfather – very rare indeed. While engraved and given in 1905, this R & W Wilson children's cup was made in Philadelphia and dates between 1846 and 1877.
The coin silver cup itself is 2-7/8" tall, 2-1/2" in diameter (base) and weighs 106.6 grams.
Please note that based on customer preference, we only lightly polish our silver.
