WaiKee Jewelers, Hong Kong, was founded in 1885. They were know for exquisite jewelry as well as their sterling silver. This presentation bowl with scalloped edge rim is no exception. Commanding decor on its wooden stand, but it can also shine when pressed into service – floating roses would make this a wonderful centerpiece for any entertaining table.
Lightly engraved (so shallow we had difficulty photographing the detail):
Hong Kong Trophy
Philip V. Clarke
We don't have any background on what this was awarded for but it must have been for a spectacular feat!
Condition report: Excellent vintage condition. A metal holder fits into the trophy base to secure it; that has been separated from the base (we do not believe the holder piece to be sterling, and is not included in the weight). Please note, based on customer preferences, we only lightly polish our sterling.
The fitted case is in excellent condition with some minor wear marks from storage; 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 6 1/2". The overall trophy (base and bowl) stands approximately 150mm tall. Wood base: 52mm tall, 52mm top diameter, 115mm bottom diameter. Sterling bowl: 95mm tall; 150mm top diameter, 80mm bottom diameter. Sterling weight 270.7 grams. Hallmarked WeiKee Sterling Silver.
