It doesn't get any better than Japanese mid-century – except when it's a mid-century design by well-respected silversmith Miyamoto Shoko, founded in 1880 and still in business today. Their highly sought-after pieces have been given by the Emperor himself as gifts for members of Japan's royal family.

Three curved supports connect the base to the up (which is resting on a golf ball). Mid-century deco at its finest. The engraving reads:

Director General Cup
1963
U.S.A. & Japan
Friendship Golf Tournament

The trophy is approximately 160mm tall, 165mm wide at the top and 86mm wide at the base. The wood base is 55mm tall, 110mm wide at the top and 132mm wide at the base. The case is 265mm x 210mm x 175mm.

Hallmarked: Sterling Silver Miyamoto-Shoko. The trophy weighs 285.6 grams.

Excellent condition with some faint lines from polishing over the years. The top of the base has some wear; the fitted presentation box is in excellent shape for the interior with the exterior showing some wear from storage.
