Something notable occurred on June 6, 1926. In regard to these cufflinks, so engraved, what might it have been? A birthday? Anniversary? Or perhaps a winning-bet splurge, post-Belmont Stakes (Crusader won on June 5, if you need reminding). And across the pond, Royal Ascot races would commence in another few days – maybe these were a dapper, good-luck gift for one of the swells in attendance. Whatever the back story, these cuff links done in the Essex process (carved crystal with reverse-painted detail) still exude thoroughbred style in every stroke. Which make ours a winning pair by a furlong. Note: The back of one oval is engraved with initials B.G.G., along with the aforementioned date. Each link is approximately 18mm in diameter. Hallmarked 14k. 6.9 grams. Includes gift presentation box.
