A nice example of the Catalonian - The Glass of Old Spain line developed by Consolidated Glass Co. in 1927, designed by Reuben Haley. Haley was issued a patent on this unique glass production technique that produced the characteristic "bubbles" or "blisters". Catalonian glass also shows characteristic concentric ring along with the random bubbles. This vase was a further design development with the addition of the "knobs" referred to as Spanish Knob. This line was produced in two glass finishes the first was Brilliant which consisted of Emerald Green, Spanish Rose, and Crystal and the second was Soft which consisted of Honey, Amethyst and Jade. The Soft term referred to a transparent wash being applied to clear glass. The vase on offer here is in the Soft Amethyst color. The shape of the vase is #1102 the 6" triangle vase. Reference material - "Phoenix & Consolidated Art Glass 1928-1980" by Jack D. Wilson, page 78 photo 292. Condition is excellent free of chips, cracks or repairs. Measurements are 6" T X 4 1/2" W.
